Oversized Knits, Abandoned Factories

Michael and I spent a chilly weekend morning at the old Cadillac stamping plant in Detroit. The desolate structure stood there, hauntingly beckoning us towards her. There was a DRL drone race going on inside - professional drone racing is a thing? Cool! ESPN was there to capture it all. Our friend was coordinating the event and invited us to stop by. It made for the perfect impromptu outfit shoot.

I wanted to balance out the oversize knit top with something more slim-fitting on the bottom. These are the skinny Leigh jeans from Topshop that I cut at the hems to get that trendy raw staggered hem that's so popular right now. I'm not good with DIYs but this one was easy enough for me to handle. On my feet I thought I'd glam it up a bit and wear some high heeled pointed toe booties by Stuart Weitzman. They're comfortable and I love how they are able to tie in with the black belt and make the outfit just a touch cooler than a pair of sneakers would.

Overall, this was such a great morning and the space was hauntingly beautiful.
