Outfit Roundup #8
How is it the end of May already? My concept of time has warped. I am finding it simultaneously going by too fast and too slow as each day melts into the next. I’ll be honest - I started off the month with zero desire to put together an actual outfit and leaned hard into the athleisure section of my closet. Occasionally, though, fueled by brief moments of sunshine and emerging greenery, I got some inspiration. I managed to put together a few outfits that made me feel great and thought they’d be worth sharing if you, like me, are also facing a mild case of sartorial doom. The weather was all over the place, starting with sweaters and into sandals and short sleeved looks.

It’s… cold. I feel unprepared and have to run a few errands so I dig up my Uniqlo padded coat and risk it sockless with a pair of chunky loafers. This outfit is another take on one I saw on Camille Charriere earlier this month - leggings, loafers, a chunky striped knit and a long coat. So easy and chic. My knit is a 2020 find from Zara that is still available to purchase, so I will link it for you in case you’re interested. It’s really cute, boxy and cozy; a perfect alternative to a sweatshirt.

I spent the day working at home so the shoes are merely for cute photo purposes. A chunky cashmere knit was unearthed from the back of the closet since it’s quite chilly - this was a clearance find I purchased last year from Nordstrom Rack. The jeans are a recent Mango find and I love them so much. They’re full length on me (I’m 5’5 for reference) and slightly baggy, which I love pairing with a more classic feminine shoe like the patent Valentino Tango pumps in the photos.

Sweet, sweet sleevelessness! I know “sleevelessness” isn’t a real word but humor me for a second. Today felt like summer is quickly approaching, so this is my take on a summer suit. Navy blue trousers by Express balanced out with a slim bodysuit by Skims and an old vest from Rag & Bone. The chunky gold sandals were arguably my best second hand find of the season - they’re from Prada and I found them in black also. I talk about them more in my recent Fashion Faves video where I also rounded up some alternatives.

Transitioning from the slimmer ankle cropped denim styles in my closet has been really fun. I’m trying to play around with different styles and shapes of denim, because I was falling into a rut. These relaxed ripped jeans from Mango have gotten a ton of wear. I love wearing them relaxed with a tee and sandals or balanced out with a super classic feminine shoe like I did earlier in this post. The shoulder pad tee is an oldie from Zara and sandals are an older style by Gianvito Rossi.
