Garden Strolls

An Afternoon at the Huntington Library

On my last venture out to Los Angeles, Michael and I decided to take a little road trip to Pasadena and visit a place called the Huntington Library. It's an enormous estate that houses a collections-based research institution and one of the most beautiful set of gardens I have ever set foot in. You can easily spend an entire day here and be mesmerized by its grandiose beauty. From a massive cactus garden to a slice of bamboo forest, it truly was a treat for my senses. My favorite was the Japanese garden with its gorgeous arched bridges and lush canopy of trees.

I kept things as airy as possible with my outfit. This long silk dress from & Other Stories has been one of my favorite wardrobe items over the last three months. I paired it with my red backless loafers, a black & gold waist belt and a fun structured summer clutch from Cult Gaia. If you're playing fashion blogger bingo, I think you just won the game. Gucci loafers, belt and an Ark bag all in one outfit? BINGO!

The black silk dress has been a solid favorite all summer long and I'm eager to get more wear out of it into the fall season by layering it over long & short-sleeved shirts or under chunky knitwear. It may be September but I'm not quite ready to give up on my entire summer wardrobe just yet.
