The 3 Hydrating Face Mists I Always Repurchase
Hydrating facial mists are the ultimate skincare pick-me-up. They’re not a necessity by any means, but they can make a difference in my mood and hydration levels throughout the day. Some are loaded with plant extracts and peptides, some are beautifully fragranced for an aromatherapy effect and others are hyaluronic acid powerhouses. Whether it’s to help attract more water into my dehydrated skin mid-winter or to help cool and refresh my face all summer long, I have found a face mist for the job.
How to use a face mist and what does it do?
My go-to method is using a face mist in between my skincare steps. Serums and moisturizers are generally loaded with humectants, ingredients that lock in moisture from the air and bring it closer to and inside the upper layers of our skin like little magnets. However for many of us, especially those of us living in dry environments, there is often not enough water in the air. Spraying a mist that also has its own water and added humectants can help boost the hydration levels of the skin.
Right now it’s winter and my routine is as follows: I cleanse, use my facial mist, apply a hydrating serum, spray a bit more facial mist, then apply moisturizer. I alternate between different mists throughout the year as I use them up. Here are the three facial mists I repurchase the most frequently:
Jordan Samuel Skin Hydrate The Mist $29.00
This is my go-to hyaluronic acid boost! This mist is excellent in warmer weather for a refreshing addition of hydration. It also contains aloe and cucumber water for extra soothing benefits. If it’s a really hot and humid day, I use this and skip my hydrating serum altogether, because the ingredients in this mist will help bring the water in the humid atmosphere closer to my skin. It is unscented and the price point is great. It comes in two different sizes for travel/convenience purposes.
Jordan Samuel Skin Hydrate The Mist is available to purchase online directly through their website for US & Canadian customers. Available worldwide through Cult Beauty.
Youth To The People Adaptogen Soothe + Hydrate Activated Mist $42.00
This is more hefty in the hydration and moisture department, but still never heavy or cloying. My skin is still on the oily side so I look for facial mists that help bring in hydration but without adding to my oil production. This mist has added peptides to help keep the skin plump, and it is also unscented. The fine mist of the spray bottle is amongst the best I have experienced. This is also available in two different sizes.

Chantecaille Pure Rosewater $75.00
This is my luxurious aromatherapy treat. It is the perfect balance of a light boost of hydration and the soothing properties of rose petals, with an amazing scent to top it all off. The smell of this is what keeps me coming back for more - it is the most authentic fresh rose scent. It smells exactly like the roses in my grandmother’s garden so it invokes really happy memories for me each time I use it. The bottle is super chic and the mist is incredibly fine. I wait for the brand’s yearly sales to get a discount (usually 25%) which helps make the hefty price tag more palatable. It is a true treat and I love using it. If you’re a fan of rose scents, Chantecaille’s Pure Rosewater is a must have. Available in both full and travel sizes.
